Laura Glennon
Laura Glennon is the founder of Greater Boston Bookkeeping and Financial Services. She also is an author to the Boston Dollars & SenseSM blog, which covers accounting/bookkeeping, economic and general finance topics.
Before founding her own firm, Laura spent a number of years in the corporate banking industry in Boston, developing a core of financial analytical skills she continues to use every day in her business. Her industry experience includes both time spent at BayBank Boston, N.A. in the commercial lending area and at the Department of Treasury as a bank examiner. She has been helping businesses and individuals in the Greater Boston area for the past seven years.
As a senior credit analyst for BayBank Boston, N.A., Laura analyzed domestic and international companies in the commercial loan portfolio to ascertain the borrower's creditworthiness and wherewithal to repay bank financing and made recommendations to senior loan committees for approval and renewal of these loans. While her experience was mainly centered in the middle market area, she also analyzed broadcasting companies, not-for-profit companies and commercial real estate entities.
Through the Department of Treasury's OCC (Office of the Comptroller of the Currency) Laura was selected to participate in a one-year pilot program to examine the asset quality of national banks in the northeastern district. She spent the duration at The First National Bank of Boston reviewing shared national credits, where risk exposures exceeded $20 million. She directed loan discussions between the bank and the OCC and prepared criticized loan write-ups.
Laura Glennon graduated cum laude from Harvard University (Harvard Extension School) with an A.L.B. (Bachelor of Liberal Arts) with concentrations in economics and finance. She is a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor.
